Daddy wiped his hands. "Is that so?"

Then he stood up, cracked his knuckles, and stepped into the neon glow.

Chapter 2: The Burger Baron Appears

The air outside smelled different.

Not of smoky soy sauce and sizzling meats, but of charred beef and melting cheese.

At the center of it all, flipping a golden brioche bun with far too much confidence, was The Burger Baron.

A towering man in a velvet apron, his hat shaped like a sesame seed bun, dripping with arrogance.

"So, you’re the famous Daddy," the Baron sneered. "Your claypot rice is nice… but it’s old news. Singapore wants fast food now. And nothing’s faster than a burger."

The crowd gasped.

Daddy smirked. “Fast doesn’t mean better, kid.”

The Baron cracked his knuckles. "Fine. Then let’s settle this. A cook-off. My best burger vs. your best claypot dish. Winner takes the title of Singapore’s flavor king."

The stakes were set. The battle was on.

Chapter 3: The Clash of the Titans

The Burger Baron moved fast. His hands were a blur, slapping down a massive, double-stacked beef patty, layering it with gooey cheese, crisped onions, and an unholy amount of sauce.

The scent of melted butter and sizzling beef filled the air.

The crowd leaned in, mesmerized.

"Can Daddy beat that?" someone whispered.

But Daddy? Daddy didn’t flinch.

He reached for his signature spice blend, the same one that had made dishes at Claypot Daddy’s kitchen legendary.

Then, he grabbed his golden wok, the one infused with generations of flavor, and unleashed the fire.

The scent of slow-braised meats, fragrant rice, and deep, rich umami filled the air.

The wok roared, the heat caramelizing the soy and garlic into pure perfection.

And then, the final touch—Daddy’s secret sauce, perfected over the years and only found in his legendary promotions.

The moment it hit the rice, the crowd gasped.

"That smell…"

Both dishes were plated.

The judges took one bite of the Burger Baron’s masterpiece.

It was good. Juicy, flavorful, bold.

Then, they took one bite of Daddy’s claypot rice.

Silence.

Then—an explosion of cheers.

The contrast of textures, the deep layers of umami, the perfectly crispy rice at the bottom of the claypot.

The burger was great… but the claypot was legendary.

The Burger Baron dropped his spatula.

"I… I lost?"

Daddy grinned, tossing his towel over his shoulder. "You didn’t lose, kid. You just learned that fast food can’t beat real food."

The burger empire crumbled. The neon signs dimmed. And Daddy?

Daddy was still king.

"Daddy, will this battle dish be on the menu?"

Daddy smirked. "Check out our promotions and see for yourself."

As the city celebrated, Daddy turned back to his kitchen, victorious once again.

And with a final wink, he whispered:
